Hello, Woodside Friends!
I am a multimedia storyteller.
I’ve always loved a good story. From theatre to music to audio and lighting and video to a major in English and a minor in creative writing--it’s all a way to tell a story and create an environment. In the creative realm of worship arts, the options for illustrating the gospel are endless. The sanctuary is an opportunity to reach people for Christ and creatives are the stewards of that environment. Everyone involved on any scale carries a piece of that stewardship with them, and with it a service in honor of furthering the Kingdom of Christ. Every person on the team is valuable and should be valued.
The importance of community.
Modern society has largely destroyed community mindsets by preaching autonomy and self-isolation. Quarantine and the pandemic weakened it further, cutting people off and hiding them away out of fear. Strengthening communities and teams has always been important to me and is now needed more than ever. My experiences contracting and volunteering with the Woodside productions team has been amazing and welcoming. The community accepts you with open arms and loves each other and grows together with grace and forgiveness and service. While currently my contracting jobs often keep me away, I am always looking for more opportunities to be present. It’s an environment people thrive in and that I would love to be a part of as a member of the full time staff.
A passion for teams and productions.
I have a lot of productions experience, but in the end it isn’t about what gear you have or how high your price tag was or how many bonus features you can get. It’s about stewarding what the Lord provides, what he will provide in the future, and the people. The teams matter, the people in the seats matter, and the people not in the seats matter. Having an environment geared towards equipping groups of people with skills, deepening relationships, helping them find the right fit, develop in their areas of interest, and seeing what the Lord will use them for is a joyful experience. Creative environments with an abundance of grace and purpose are the perfect place to succeed and fail and learn. The production field is chock full of experiment opportunities, challenges, and problems to solve or circumvent. The more you try, the more you learn across disciplines, the more you learn how to speak to multi-disciplinary teams, the more opportunities become available to you. It’s a marvelous field to be a part of.
Hobbies and Interests.
“and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.”
