Welcome!

In the fall of 2006 I joined Romeo High School Theatre Company and began my productions journey. There I had the opportunity to try anything and everything, from audio to set design to acting to painting to lighting and more. We toured The Outsiders to State Thespian Festival, completed 14 productions by graduation, and became a huge theatrical family. I got the chance to compete at Thespian Festival, was accepted into the International Thespian Society, took classes in acting and tech, learned about traditional theatre, and worked my first contract jobs there.

In the summer of 2008, I joined the tech team at Discover Church, which eventually merged with Heritage Church. I interned with the worship arts team, rebuilt the planning center database, played in the bands, worked with the youth group, and learned to use intelligent lighting systems. I had the opportunity to lead the Creative Team for the college ministry, which toured churches in the metro-detroit area until finding a home at The Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens. From there, my family and I joined the team opening a new campus in Imlay City (pictured).

In the spring of 2015 I arrived at SpringHIll Camps. Not as a productions tech, but as a Target Sports Instructor. By fall I was assisting productions during services on the weekends, and then more and more until 2017-2019 when I became the full time Productions Retreat Staff, and then Summer Productions Area Director. SpringHill is where I had to learn to do everything all at once. I prepped every station, trained volunteers to operate, called all the cues, and filled in wherever necessary. Summers had 29 sessions a week across 4 venues. You learned and adapted by necessity and repetition.

Towards the end of my time at SpringHill Camps I began to spend holidays and free weekends at Kensington Church. After volunteering for a while, I joined the team as a lighting contract employee. When COVID hit and the stream became our main audience, we began to make improvements in lighting for stream, such as going CTB, lighting placement for camera angles with dark back depth, and a video monitor for the lighting station. While I specialize in lighting, I have filled other roles in video as the team needed, and have therefore spent time Assistant Directing, running cameras, Iris, and VT.
